Sunday, 24 May 2009: SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER (Year B)

Papal World Day of Communications

“As the Father sent me into the world, so I send you into the world”

Papal World Day of Communications this Sunday. In his message for World Communications Day, Pope Benedict XVI writes:

“It falls, in particular, to young people, who have an almost spontaneous affinity for the new means of communication, to take on the responsibility for the evangelization of this ‘digital continent.’ Be sure to announce the Gospel to your contemporaries with enthusiasm. You know their fears and their hopes, their aspirations and their disappointments: The greatest gift you can give to them is to share with them the ‘Good News’ of a God who became man, who suffered, died and rose again to save all people.”

Thanks to Maurice Dougan, our parish has a website which we hope to keep updated on a regular basis. The various groups are asked to check out the information on them and to send corrections or additions to Fr Leo or to Maurice. The website address is:

Prayer for Oblate VOCATIONS & CONGRESS:

God of joyful hope and faithful love:

You call us to share more fully

in the mission of your Son.

In this time of great promise and change

inspire and challenge us to be witnesses to the power

and presence of Jesus.

Guided by the Holy Spirit
